Habitat Description: Xeric, sandy environment. Herbaceous material is mowed every 5 years on right-of-way and woody material is cut down.

Soil Description: Deep Sparta sands.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Erect herb with densely pubescent developing fruit. Remains of the staminate flowers at tip of inflorescence. Striate and pubescent stem. Leaves are not flat, but folded towards the primary vein. Growing with: Yucca louisianensis, Eragrostis secundiflora, Croton, Lechea mucronata, L. tenuifolia, Froelichia, Stylisma pickeringii var. pattersonii, Phemeranthus rugospermus. Occasional.
