Habitat

Habitat Description: West Fort of Trinity River. At edge of water, along narrow bank before forested edge. Partial shade. Growing with: Lippia lanceolata, Sesbania vesicaria, Justicia americana and Scoenoplectus tabernaemontani.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Erect herb in flower. White showy petals that are a deep crimson at their bases. Immature apparently inflated fruit are green, maturing to papery brown. Seeds are a covered with a ferruginous pubescence.
