Habitat Description: Growing on eroding backslope of Walnut Limestone ridgetop glade heading down to canyon. With young Celtis laevigata, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Dyschoriste linearis. Growing in crack next to large outcrop.

Soil Description: Walnut Formation. Shallow calcareous gravelly clay loam. Soil about 5 inches deep in crack with mollic epipedon.
