Habitat

Habitat Description: On gravelly eroding Walnut hillslope near contact with Paluxy Sand. Growing with Liatris aestivalis, Hymenopappus tenuifolius, Nostoc commune, Centaurium sp., Carex planostachys, and Tetraneuris scposa.

Soil Description: Paluxy Sands, just below contact with the Walnut Formation. Eroding calcareous gravelly sandy clay loam.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Perennial with woody taproot. Leaves basal and crowded near stem. Appearing acaulescent. Plants densely pubescent, moreso underneath. Flowers purple.
