Locality Description: Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. Along powerlines, approximately 1 mile from the Ten Mile Bridge Road.

Habitat Description: In open area that is periodically cleared; receiving full sun. Growing with Tradescantia, Helianthemum, Plantago, Oenothera, Pediomelum rhombifolium, Loeflingia squarrosa, Juncus marginatus.

Soil Description: Deep sandy Aquilla soils.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Erect herb with mature flowers. Flowers with five yellow petals: two top petals have splotches of purple at their base, bottom petal appears to be larger than the rest, one petal seems to curve around the linear purple-red anthers. Red-orange disc shaped gland on petiole between stem and first leaflets. Stems and pedicels are reddish. Common.
