Locality Description: Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge. In smaller clearing to the South of the Northeasternmost clearing on Todd Island, West of river. GPS coordinates are an approximation based off other collections.

Habitat

Habitat Description: In open clearing receiving full sun. Growing with Matelea cynanchoides, Stillingia sylvatica, Cnidoscolus texanus, Rumex, Heterotheca subaxillaris.

Soil Description: Deep sandy Aquilla soils.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Erect to spreading herb with few mature flowers and developing fruit. White latex. Strong foul odor (skunk-like). Leaves (short petioled), stem and fruit are densely pubescent (white, simple), easily visible when looking down on the plant from above. Peduncle is purplish colour, as is calyx. Flowers and fruit appear to hand downwards, from axils of leaves. Occasional in open clearings.
