Morphological Description

Diagnosis: Perennial herb; stems often procumbent, sometimes ascending; leaves opposite; rosette leaves with wide-winged petiole without chlorophyll; cauline leaves short-petioled, oval to obovate; inflorescence a spike of 6-12 axillary flowers; flowers sessile, 5-merous, perfect; tepals 3-nerved, green between nerves, densely lanate with silky hairs; stamens 5; style 1; stigmas capitate, bilobed; fruit a membranous, indehiscent utricle; seeds 1 mm long, brown, shiny.
